今日は仕事がたくさんあります。日本語レッスンの生徒さんが９人いますから、がんばります。

生徒さんと日本語を練習していると、いつもびっくりします。みんな、とても早く日本語が上手になりますから。もし私が外国人として日本語を勉強したとしたら、生徒さんたちのような早さで日本語をマスターする自信がありません。

休憩時間に、今日は芥川龍之介の「妙な話」のふりがなをつけます。生徒さんと一緒に勉強していて、いつも困るのは、ふりがなが小さいということです。漢字の上に小さく書かれたひらがなは、学習の助けとして、あまり心強いとはいえません。「ぱ　pa」と「ば　ba」の違いや、小さい「っ」と大きい「つ」は、とてもわかりにくいですね。

だから、このサイトは字を大きくしたいと思いました。少なくとも、漢字と同じ大きさでふりがなが読めると、とても便利だと思いました。このサイトは生まれたばかりですが、学習する人にとって便利なサイトを目指して、少しずつ進歩させていきたいです。

Today is a busy day at work. I have nine lessons today, so I'll do my best.

I'm always amazed when practicing Japanese with my students. Everyone becomes proficient in Japanese so quickly. If I were studying Japanese as a foreigner, I wouldn't have the confidence to master it as fast as my students do.

During my break today, I'll add furigana to Akutagawa Ryunosuke's “Strange Story.” When studying with my students, what always troubles me is how small the furigana is. The tiny hiragana written above the kanji isn't very helpful for learning. The difference between “ぱ　pa” and “ば　ba,” or the small ‘っ’ and the large “つ,” is really hard to tell.

That's why I wanted this site to display larger characters. At the very least, I thought it would be very convenient if the furigana could be read at the same size as the kanji. This site is still in its infancy, but I aim to make it a useful resource for learners and will continue to improve it step by step.
